Summary: “Indigenous women and youth 30 years after Beijing. Advances and challenges for the future”

The study “Indigenous Women and Youth 30 years after Beijing. Advances and challenges for the future” documents the situation and position of indigenous women, youth and girls in the current context, highlighting advances, gaps and setbacks, inspiring practices and pending issues.

In the analysis we highlight advances in terms of regulations and implementation of some programs, which have been possible thanks to our continuous actions of advocacy, training, awareness and direct action. On the other hand, we also found that racism and colonialism are still present, reflected in the persistence or worsening of socioeconomic gaps, which threaten our individual and collective rights and the sustainability of life.

The research provides information to promote the participation and advocacy of indigenous women and youth in the context of Beijing+30, as well as to guide future actions and commitments of the States.
